Taysia Blue Rescue has announced that in 2017 they will launch a new outreach program aimed at helping homeless dogs and U. S. Military veterans. Based in Omaha, NE, Taysia Blue Rescue saves the lives of Siberian Huskies and Alaskan Malamutes throughout the Midwest.
The new program will be named Huskies and Heroes and will focus on bringing together challenging shelter dogs and military veterans struggling with PTSD or other socialization issues. The intent is to have the veterans work with the dogs to improve their adoptability.
According to Taysia Blue Rescue's founder Jackie Roach,"We have noticed an increase in challenging dogs coming in to shelters. These dogs and shelters need our help and we're not always able to. The dogs
need more time, they need intensive training and they need a path & plan to adoption."
